Sometimes a landscape bed just needs more room. That was the situation here - the existing border along the side of the house had done its job for a while, but it had gotten overgrown and didn't have enough space to really show off what the customer had going on with their plants and decorations.

We extended the border out, brought in fresh dark mulch, and added more river rock to fill out the new space. One thing we were glad to do was preserve a section of the original painted border and work it into the new layout. It gave the finished bed some character instead of making it feel like a complete do-over.

The tree in the front yard got some attention too. We built out a clean mulch ring around the base with river rock inside the edging - a simple detail that goes a long way. It keeps mowing easier, protects the tree roots, and just looks intentional.

That's kind of the goal on any flower bed installation - make it look like it was planned from the start, not pieced together over time. Fresh mulch, clean lines, and the right mix of materials make a bigger difference than most people expect.

Good landscaping doesn't have to mean starting from scratch. A lot of the time, we can work with what's already there and just clean it up, expand it, and give it a finished look that holds up.
